Supernova: Latvia's springboard to Eurovision

The Supernova show has been used as the Latvian national selection for Eurovision since 2015. It was created by Latvian television channel Latvijas Televīzija (LTV).
History of the Supernova competition
This year, LTV is organising the 10th edition of ‘Supernova’, the first of which took place in 2015, with a break in 2021. Supernova began broadcasting as a replacement for the previous short-lived Latvian national selection Dziesma.
Entry selection process and rules
The LTV has opened a submission period a few months before its national final. All artists and composers wishing to submit their tracks for Supernova 2025 now have the opportunity to do so.
Foreigners may also enter the competition as songwriters and composers, but the group of songwriters must not contain more foreigners than Latvian citizens.
A jury made up of experts from the Latvian music, television and events sectors, as well as international music professionals, will then examine and evaluate the songs submitted and shortlist those with the most potential.
The results will be decided by a 50% jury vote and a 50% public vote.
Where and how can I see the Supernova 2025 competition?
The semi-final will take place live on 1 February 2025 at 20:00 and the final on 08 February. Both evenings will be broadcast on the channel LTV1.
