Happy New Year Eurovision 2025: discover the first details of the season

Here we are! Sunday 1st September, the season is officially launchedSo, happy Eurovision 2025 to you all! As of today, all the songs released are eligible to compete in Eurovision, which will take place in Basel from 13 to 17 May 2025. The road to Eurovision starts now, and every new artist, composer or producer will be trying to find THE winning song to take home the crystal microphone!

Swiss victory in Malmö

Remember that Switzerland won Eurovision 2024 in Malmö with Nemo and his song " The Code" . A mix of rock opera, rap and pop, Nemo and his "The Code »" brought a fresh touch to the competition with an incredible performance which won over both the public and the jury.

Eurovision 2025 host city announced two days ago after a competition between Geneva, Zurich and Bern: it's Basel! This decision, which brings Eurovision to the German-speaking part of Switzerland, after the contest was previously hosted in the Italian and French-speaking regions in 1956 and 1989, has delighted Swiss fans who are already looking forward to seeing their country host the show. Basel, with its Rhenish charm and rich cultural heritage, promises to be a great stage for the Eurovision festivities.

Participating countries

Opening of national submissions for the National Selections

Some countries have wasted no time and have already launched their calls for entries, such as Finland, which is already preparing its national Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK for short) team.

The national selection season is a veritable musical tour of Europe. Each country showcases its local talent through live broadcasts, mini Eurovision competitions or less spectacular internal selections. It's a moment not to be missed, as it's often here that we discover the first nuggets, the staging and the future favourites of the competition.
