Eurovision 2026: all the dates to remember for the 2026 national selections

No sooner has Basel recovered from Eurovision 2025 than the broadcasters are announcing the dates for the 2026 national selections. This page gives you a summary of all the national selections for Eurovision 2026 and the new features announced for each.

What are the Eurovision National Selections?

Each year, the countries taking part in Eurovision can choose their representative in two ways: either via an internal selection, where the broadcaster selects the artist directly, or via national selections.

The Eurovision national selections are competitions organised by broadcasters, generally between November and March, where several artists present their songs. The public, a jury or professionals then vote to choose the candidate and the song that will represent the country at the contest.

These selections are a key moment for the Eurovision community, who each year discover many new talents and songs before the big event in May. It's a real warm-up for the Eurovision community!
