Erika Vikman wins UMK 2025!
After an evening in the Finnish tradition, Erika Vikman, with her track " Ich Komme “ won the UMK 2025 and was named Finland's new representative at Eurovision 2025.
Erika Vikman began her career by standing out on the show Nouvelle Star in Finland in 2013, then she continued her career as a Finnish tango dancer. She won the Tangomarkkinat festival in 2016. But it was in 2020 that she really broke through with her first participation in UMK with the title Cicciolina. It will be a top 5 single in Finland.
She confides in an interview here that her return to UMK in 2025 was not planned, but she's throwing herself into it. In Finland, the UMK has grown phenomenally, and she feels the challenge is even greater this year.
Her winning title ” Ich Komme “ was part of an artistic evolution for Erika, who wanted to offer something different but faithful to her universe. She admits she was surprised that anyone could create a Eurovision song so obviously. When asked what she wants to convey through her music, Erika is clear: " You have the right to be yourself and to be loved as you are."
We can't wait to meet Erika again in Basel next May, and see what she has in store for us on the Eurovision stage, with a show that already promises to be daring, powerful and unforgettable!
