As you know, Eurovision 2025 is returning to its roots. After hosting the 1st Eurovision, it's now Basel in Switzerland's turn to host the 69th edition from 12 to 17 May. The project committee has unveiled the visual and audio identity of the event, as well as the ticketing system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artur Deyneuve, the competition's artistic director, has developed a visual identity for Eurovision 2025 around the theme of \"Unity Shapes Love \u00bb <\/em>(\"Unity shapes love\" \u00bb), which is inspired by Swiss values, particularly the tradition of direct democracy and listening to each other. This philosophy is reflected in the edition's logo, a heart symbolising dialogue, unity and the unifying power of music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choice of this typeface has caused a lot of ink to flow (hin hin hin!) in the Eurovision fan community, and some people regret that the Artistic Director did not use the famous Helvetica font! Not only does it bear the name of the confederation, but it was also created in Basel. It would have been a nice (but perhaps too easy?) nod to history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of music, Eurovision 2025 should incorporate traditional Swiss sounds with typical elements such as yodelling and instruments like the Hackbrett and alphorns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A stage concept celebrating Switzerland<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Florian Wieder, who has already contributed to 8 editions since 2011, will be responsible for the design of the stage. Inspired by the Swiss mountains and the country's linguistic diversity, the stage at Basel's St. Jakobshalle will comprise several interconnected areas: a main stage, secondary zones and walkways for close contact between the artists and the audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wieder stresses that the design is intended as a tribute to Swiss culture, while offering the technical flexibility to accommodate the 38 performances expected. He describes the project as something that will go down in Eurovision history. We can't wait to see the final rendering at the end of April!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 360\u00b0 immersive experience with \"Arena Plus \u00bb<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the Final, which will be held on 17 May at the St. Jakobshalle, the organisers have planned a public viewing area called Arena Plus \u00bb at St. Jakob Park. This area will offer a live, immersive viewing experience of the final. \"Arena Plus \u00bb will enable a wider audience to experience Eurovision in a warm and festive atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration and ticketing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The press conference also revealed the details of the ticketing system. This year it will be managed by the Swiss platform TicketCorner, and the organisers' aim is to guarantee secure and fair access for fans. Pre-registration, which is compulsory to obtain tickets, will help to limit abusive resales. With prices ranging from CHF 40 to 350, nine shows will be accessible, including the semi-finals, the grand final and rehearsals open to the public. A public viewing area, \"Arena Plus \u00bb\", will also be organised in St. Jakob Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre-registration opens on 16 December 2024 on TicketCorner<\/a> until10 January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
