It was created to celebrate the unity between the United Kingdom, Ukraine and Liverpool, where the event took place, at a time when Ukraine, after its victory in Turin, found itself unable to host the competition on its territory because of the war raging there. This slogan is a sort of reminder that music can bring us together, no matter where we come from.

Instead of changing the slogan every year, as has been the case for over 20 years, Eurovision has decided to keep this one forever. Martin Österdahl, Eurovision's executive supervisor, expressed his enthusiasm, saying: "After more than 20 years of using different slogans, and as we approach our 70th anniversary, we think we've found a slogan that really encapsulates our brand"..

This decision marks a real departure from the tradition of changing slogans every year, and sent many fans into a tizzy when it was announced. As Ebba Adielsson, executive producer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 for SVT, noted: "We quickly realised that the great slogan chosen by the BBC says exactly what it's all about, coming together in music, and we saw no reason to change something that sums up the foundations of the event so well.".

However, the choice of the slogan "United By Music" truly embodies what the Eurovision Song Contest is all about. It serves as a beacon of hope and camaraderie in a world often divided by differences. And at Eurovision & Friends, we think that not only is it a great idea, but more importantly it's one of the simplest and most powerful slogans for many years.

Judge for yourself!

2002: A Modern Fairytale

2003: A Magical Rendez-vous

2004: Under The Same Sky

2005: Awakening

2006: Feel The Rhythm

2007: True Fantasy

2008: Confluence of Sound

2010: Share The Moment

2011: Feel Your Heart Beat

2012: Light Your Fire

2013: We Are One

2014: #JOINUS

2015: Building Bridges

2016: Come Together

2017: Celebrate Diversity

2018: All Aboard!

2019: Dare To Dream

2021: Open Up

2022: The Sound Of Beauty

2023: United By Music

Petit coup de tonnerre dans le milieu de l’Eurovision alors que le slogan « United By Music » se prépare à s’installer pour de bon !
