This year, ten songs will compete at Söngvakeppnin 2025, selected from 110 submissions received by the broadcaster.
Söngvakeppnin 2025: how does it work?
The Söngvakeppnin 2025 will take place over three evenings:
- 8 February 2025 Semi-final 1
- 15 February 2025 Semi-final 2
- 22 February 2025 : Final
During the semi-finals, each artist will perform their song in its Icelandic version. Each song is available in Icelandic and English. At the end of each semi-final, three artists will qualify for the final thanks to a 100 % public vote. In the final, the six remaining contestants will have the opportunity to sing in the language of their choice, and the winner will be decided by a combined vote of 50 % jury and 50 % public.
You can follow the evenings on the broadcaster's website RUV.
