Update 01 February: Red Sebastian wins Eurosong 2025 with 423 points (ahead of Leez with 144 points), and will represent Belgium at Eurovision 2025 in May.
Red Sebastian, a young Belgian artist, is already sending Eurovision bookmakers into a frenzy. Not only is he taking part in Eurosong 2025 (the Belgian selection for Eurovision), he's also generating a real hype. Although he hasn't yet been chosen to represent Belgium, he's already one of the big favourites for the competition!
An early start in the world of music
Red Sebastian, whose real name is Seppe Herreman, was first spotted during the second season of Belgium's Got Talent in 2013, at the age of 14. At the time, he played Ain't No Other Man by Christina Aguilera, a performance that impressed the judges and audience alike, although he didn't make it onto the podium.
Perseverance and choice mentoring
Since 2017, Red Sebastian has always pursued his dream of representing Belgium at Eurovision. He sent emails with his demos to broadcaster VRT to propose his candidacy, but it went unheeded... until this year with his participation in Eurosong, where he'll be trying to secure his ticket to Basel next May!
And it's fair to say that he's been well looked after. During his singing studies at the Royal Conservatory in Ghent, he was lucky enough to have a former Eurovision star as one of his teachers... a certain Gustaph !
Red Sebastian: a strong identity and a dream in the making
2019 marks a major turning point in his career: he adopts the stage name “Red Sebastian” to stand out and assert a strong artistic identity. The name was not chosen at random: it was inspired by the red crab Sebastian, a character from The Little Mermaid. A nod to the crab, who lives his passion for music in the water, just as Red Sebastian thrives on stage.
The same year he also published several songs, and his first album was released in 2021.
Today, Red Sebastian is one of the candidates for the Belgian selection for Eurovision 2025, with his song "Strobe Lights ». The song promises to captivate audiences with its energy and electro-pop sound. And he's already one of the bookies' favourites!
He will perform live on the Eurosong stage on 1 February 2025, an event that could be the start of an incredible Eurovision adventure.
