Luxembourg Song Contest 2025: the national selection for Eurovision

The Luxembourg Song Contest is the Grand Duchy's national competition for selecting artists to represent it at Eurovision. This selection was relaunched in 2024 by the public broadcaster RTL (Radio Télévision Luxembourg) and renewed for 2025.

Luxembourg at Eurovision

Luxembourg was one of the founding countries of Eurovision in 1956 (along with Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland), and has won the competition five times, including the first time it was held. Candidate selection process and competition rules

To take part in LSC 2025, artists had to send their songs to RTL a few months ago. The rules included being from Luxembourg or having a strong presence in the country's music scene, and submitting a maximum of 5 songs, with the choice of language left to the candidates. An international jury (made up of industry professionals including our Marie Myriam but also Poli Guénova) then chose the 7 best singers from the 53 candidates, who submitted a total of 79 songs.

Organisation of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2025 and voting system

The voting system for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2025 will be identical to that used for Eurovision: 50% of the votes come from the jury and 50% from the spectators. The two results are then added together and the candidate with the most points wins the contest.

The Luxembourg Song Contest 2025 will take place at the Rockhal in Esch/Belval on 25 January 2025.
