Sarah Bonnici, born on 30 May 1998 on the island of Gozo, is a Maltese singer. She will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with her song "Loop ».

Career path

Sarah Bonnici grew up with a passion for music and was influenced from an early age by her mentor Miriam Christine (Malta's representative at Eurovision 1996). She began her career taking part in singing competitions, coming third in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta in 20009 with "The Mambo Song » and 7th in 2010 with "Kitty Kitty Cat ».

In 2022, Sarah took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malta with "Heaven », finishing 12th in the final. Her career in music reality shows such as X Factor Malta has also helped forge her reputation in the Maltese music industry.

The ticket to Malmö

In October 2023, Sarah was announced as one of the participants in the Malta 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Loop ». After impressing the audience and judges at the national competition, she won the right to represent Malta at Eurovision 2024.

Sarah worked on the reworked version with Joy Deb and Linnea Deb, two Swedish songwriters who have been involved in the creation of several Eurovision songs such as "Heroes »" by Måns Zelmerlöw (winner in 2015), "Monsters »" by Saara Aalto (2018), "Adrenalina »" by Senhit (2021), and most recently "Unforgettable »" by Marcus & Martinus in 2024. This new version brings an extra energy to the song that could win over the juries and European viewers.

Malta is hoping that this revamped version of "Loop »" will help take the country back to the Eurovision final. Sarah will be aiming to qualify from the second semi-final on 9 May.
